The fact about this town must be known and unfurled
It has been called the greatest city of the arts and outdoors in the world
A few highlights of the area include:
- Unbeatable Views and Breathtaking Hikes: Our Cascades region has some easy hikes with incredible payoffs (Blue Pool is a great example). Even around the town of Eugene it’s a quick drive and hike to amazing views of Spencer Butte and Skinner Butte(on opposite sides of town).
- Natural Spas: One of our favorite spa getaways is about 60 miles out of Eugene at Belknap Hot Springs. Visitors can camp or reserve lodge rooms while they experience the 100-year-old hot spring pools. Those looking for an even more natural experience can visit spots like McCredie Hot Springs, where untouched springs still flow from their original locations.
- Serene Coastal Sights: This week is whale watching week on the Oregon coast, and the lovely quaint town of Florence has some fantastic, affordable, dining and lodging options for visitors. They’re also the home of the world’s first sandboard park andthe Sea Lion Caves.
- Our 7 Waterfall Wonders: Just an hour away from the Oregon Coast and the Cascades regions, Eugene is right in the center of some incredible waterfalls. Smaller cascading falls can even be found along the route to the Oregon Coast on the other side of the county!
- Fun Museums for the whole Family: TheUniversity of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History is a world-class museum that offers families the opportunity to explore 15,000 years of Oregon’s cultural history and 300 million years of its natural history. From the world’s oldest shoes to the giant sabertooth salmon. We’re also home to theScience Factory Children’s Museum & Exploration Dome. An interactive science and technology hub for kids, this is a staple for families all over Oregon. With live star shows, full-dome videos, interactive exhibits and a wide variety of specials (holidays, classes, birthdays, camps, etc.), this stop is a must for families.
